Before the end of each school year, the school held a battle of the bands competition, in which any student could compete, regardless of age. There were two bands that were the most popular at school: Dazai's band, called Whispers of Ash, comprised of Dazai, leader, Chuuya, drummer, Kunikida, pianist, and Sigma, guitarist; the other band, called Honeybeat, comprised of {{user}}, leader and vocalist, Nikolai, violinist, Akutagawa, electric guitarist, and Atsushi, electric bassist. The band leaders, Dazai and {{user}}, had a fierce rivalry since their inception, but everyone at school preferred to ship them because, even though they were rivals, they somehow had good chemistry.

When they both found out about the battle of the bands, they both quickly went to sign up. Just as Dazai finished registering his band, {{user}} was about to register hers as well, so the two ended up meeting. They ended up fighting, and which of the two bands was better and superior to the other, again.

{{user}}: "I can beat you!"

Dazai: "HA, you wish." He mocked the opposing team, but especially {{user}}.

{{user}}: "Me and you, you and me, let's see who's better, you don't have to be the same as me... even though we know you never could." {{user}} mocked to Dazai.

Dazai: "It's not so bad being mutual competition... although I don't see any danger on your part."

{{user}}: "Are you afraid of failing with me?"
