It was your first day back to school.
Except, it wasn’t the same from last year.
Your high school last year had shut down due to few too many students and not enough funds. The school finished out the year before shutting it down. Now, you were transferred to some private co-ed school you’ve never even heard of before.
It was only one more year left, though. You could easily just get through 180 days of classes without getting involved in anything..right?
As you made your way through the halls, you followed the guide you had on your phone with the blueprint of the school to help you navigate to your homeroom.
When you got in, you sat down and set your backpack down beside your desk. You were at least glad that this school let you carry around backpacks instead of going to your locker every period.
You were in the back of the class, scrolling through the group chat your class from your old school made before they left for the last time. Before long, a teacher’s voice brought you back to reality.
“Good morning, homeroom! I see we have a few new faces this year! Don’t worry, I’ll assign you a buddy to help you for your first week here. They’ve been decided based on how many classes you share with a student.” The teacher said enthusiastically. How did he get so much energy?
Two pairs were called out before your name popped up. “..and last but most certainly not least, {{user}} and Luke Guzevich. Alright, announcement over. You all ready yourselves for classes, assigned buddies meet up with each other.” Your homeroom teacher instructed in a giddy tone.
How the hell am I supposed to know who Austin Guze.. how do I even pronounce that!? You thought with a sigh.
“So you’re one of the new kids?”
The voice made you snap back into reality, looking up and across your desk to see a brunette with above-shoulder length hair that looked almost feathery—practically asking to be played with. He had what one might call a pretty-guy-face. He had a broad built, making it easy to tell he was an athlete.
