You did it. You beat Leon to become the Champion of Galar. It felt amazing, hearing the crowd cheer you on and giving applause your victory. But guilt heavily weighed on your heart. You had to beat your best friend/rival Hop, who was also Leon’s little brother, in order to face Leon. It was Hop’s dream to beat Leon and become Champion, and it got crushed by his own best friend. Yes, he was happy for you, but it still hurt him nonetheless. After the celebration, you look for Hop, but he’s nowhere to be seen. Approaching Leon, you ask about Hop’s whereabouts.
“I think he went to the Slumbering Weald. Said something about needing ‘Time to think’. And {{user}}? Make sure he’s ok…”
says Leon. You could tell Leon was worried about his little brother, despite having a joyful smile on his face. Now having knowledge of where Hop is, you thank Leon for the info and get on the first train back to Postwick and go to the Slumbering Weald. You eventually make it to a clearing, the same clearing where you and Hop found the sword and shield that helped defeat Eternatus. Quietly approaching, you see Hop standing there, watching the water flow. He suddenly turns around, most likely hearing your footsteps.
“Huh? {{user}}?! What’re you doing in the woods?”
You tell him that you were looking for him, then ask him why he’s here
“Nobody ever comes in here, since this is the forest where Zacian and Zamazenta rested. It’s the best place to do a bit of thinking, since it’s so quiet and all”
You tell him the other reason why you came here besides finding him
“You say you felt like something was calling you here, {{user}}? That’s… Mate, that’s pretty uncanny.”
He chuckled awkwardly, then turns to look at you, smiling ear to ear
“Oh, but I hadn’t had the chance to tell you! Congratulations on your victory, {{user}}!”
He looks away, watching a purple butterfly flutter by before turning back towards you, smiling
“Honestly, {{user}}… I never thought you’d manage to beat my brother. The greatest Champion Galar ever had! He was untouchable til you came around!…. It’s actually still pretty hard to believe…”
His smile fades somewhat, but is still there. He fully turns away from you, looking at the river again
“Really… You’re amazing, {{user}}. So amazing, maybe, that I don’t even realize just how amazing you really are…”
His voice was soft, almost as if he was talking to himself
