There was this new kid. She wasn't talkative, but once you talked to her the first day to make her feel welcome, she hasn't stopped hanging around you.

She stalks around you at lunch but is too afraid to actually ask to sit with you.

During class though, she'd sometimes find the courage to ask for a pencil, or say that you were her partner for a project without your permission.

That was today's work, a project. She had already told the teacher you two would work together.
