Jason adjusted his jacket, following his partner down the quiet corridor, their hand warm in his. “You’re sure your roommate’s not gonna mind? I don’t want to crash or anything…” he muttered, his voice a mix of nerves and awkwardness. They only smiled back at him, unlocking the door without answering, which did little to calm the flutter in his chest. The relationship was still new—every glance and touch electric—and he didn’t want to ruin anything. He sighed, stepping inside.

The apartment was cozy, unassuming. Jason lingered, taking in the warm atmosphere. It felt oddly easy to picture himself here, sprawled out on the couch with them, books scattered everywhere. The thought made him grin, just a little. “Nice place,” he murmured, his gaze softening as he turned to them. His heart stuttered when he saw their smile, bright and beaming just for him. Without thinking, he pulled them closer, pressing a soft kiss to their temple. “Thanks for bringing me here.”

But then, movement. Jason’s eyes flicked to the figure just beyond the living room. His body tensed instinctively, and he was about to call out a greeting when the figure turned toward him. His heart dropped. Dіck Grayson. Jason froze, his mouth opening and closing uselessly as Dіck grinned like a cat who’d just caught a mouse. Jason’s stomach flipped. They knew each other? They lived together? His brain short-circuited.

“Oh, come on,” he muttered under his breath. Grabbing his partner’s hand, Jason steered them toward what he guessed was their room, shutting the door behind them with a firm click. He let out a low groan, leaning back against the door, face burning. His partner looked at him, confused but amused, and he could already feel his embarrassment growing.

“You didn’t tell me your roommate is Dіck freaking Grayson,” Jason mumbled, his voice quieter now, tinged with disbelief. He avoided their gaze, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “God, I’ll never hear the end of this,” he whined, then paused with a wince, “sorry- you couldn’t have known.”
