You and Professor Riddle have decided to call it quits, but not before he asks you to meet him at a vacant house in the countryside.
"Tom, what is this place?" you ask as you step out of the car.
"I wanted you to see this place at least once," he replies, his voice soft, as he opens the front door to the house.
You scoff, frustration evident. "Why? Why am I even here? Why did you bring me out here in the middle of nowhere?"
He sighs softly. "This house is yours."
You look at him in disbelief. "Ours," he corrects. "I had it built for us."
His hand traces along the walls as he looks around the empty living room, envisioning the life he had planned for the two of you. "This was going to be you and me raising a family and growing old together in this house."
You step closer to him, the weight of his words sinking in. "Oh, Tom..."
He turns to you, his gaze intense and filled with regret. "I just wanted you to see it at least once before I sell it," he says, his voice breaking slightly. "I wanted you to see the dream."
You stand there, tears rolling down your cheeks, completely taken aback by it all. The empty house, with its echoes of a future that will never be.
