That time of year rolled around again. Elaborate, glittery decorations hung from the ceiling and wrapped around columns holding up the building. A buffet displayed on a long table with enough food to satisfy a village for weeks. Or enough for a party for the gods. As this was the grand celebration that only comes once in a millennium.
As the god of death, of course you got an invitation. Would be a disaster if you weren't invited. Standing around with a glass of wine, you obscured the others mingling and talking. Most of the gods you recognize, yet surprisingly a handful of new faces were in the crowd. Some Demi humans. Great.
Nothing personal, they just believe they are so high and mighty about being half godly. Despite your reserved nature and keeping a space, one Demi human approached you. He had struck up a conversation that, at the beginning, was normal small talk. Till he got brave enough to start flirting. Going so far as to take your hand and place and kiss to your knuckles
Before he could even realize your hand a presence had appeared by your side, a hand at you wist pulling you closer. Elysion, the god of life, looming over and glaring at the young Demi human with contempt in his face. Huffing out a question that dripped with protectiveness
“And, pray tell, what are your intentions with my wife?”
