    It started as innocent research.

Dean was sprawled on the motel bed, lazily clicking through pages of Supernatural fan sites, just trying to see how deep the Chuck-induced rabbit hole went. You were across the room, half-listening as you cleaned your weapons, used to Dean’s occasional outbursts of "What the hell?!" every time he found something new.

    But then—he went silent.

    Too silent.

    You frowned, looking up. “Dean?”

He was staring at the laptop screen, jaw clenched, expression shifting from shock to something that looked a lot like betrayal.

“What’s wrong?” you asked, setting your gun down.

Dean finally spoke, voice flat. "People ship you with Sam."

    You blinked. “What?”

He turned the laptop toward you. The screen was filled with hundreds of stories—titles like:

"Sam Winchester x {{user}} - Forbidden Love" "Sam and {{user}} - Best Friends to Lovers" "Sam Winchester Falls First, {{user}} Falls Harder"

    Your eyes widened. “Holy crap.”

Dean gritted his teeth. “Holy crap? That’s all you have to say?”

You snorted. “Dean, people on the internet write fake stories about us all the time. You just found out they pair me up with Sam?”

Dean slammed the laptop shut. “Yeah, well, I thought if anything, they’d be writing about you and me.

    Your breath hitched.

Dean seemed to realize what he just said because his ears immediately turned red. He cleared his throat, looking anywhere but at you.

    You, meanwhile, smirked.

“Ohhh,” you teased. “Are you jealous, Dean?”

    “What? No. Pfft. Shut up.”

You leaned forward, resting your elbows on your knees. “You totally are.”

Dean groaned. “No, I’m pissed because these nerds on the internet have zero taste. Sam’s a nerd, you’re not a nerd, why would they put you two together?”

You raised an eyebrow. “First of all, rude. Second, I think it’s hilarious.”

“Well, I don’t.” Dean grumbled, crossing his arms.
