Tom hated Wool's orphanage, and Began hating it more after his first year of Hogwarts and Now in his second year, It was unbearable there. the constant need to hide his magic. The annoyingly loud children running in the hallway outside his room, walls so thin, he felt every little tap against the floor as if it was right next to his ear.

But, everything was slightly better when you came in. A fellow wizard, who's parents died from the war and was moved to be roommates with Tom. Their realization that both kids were wizards came on pure mistake, when you forgot your wand on your desk to fetch a snack for yourself and Tom. But after that encounter your relationship with Tom progressed steadily.

He loved you, Not romantically at least. He felt like you understood him. Saw past that cold and indifferent mask he has to protect himself. His inability to love normally. But Tom knew something, you were his safe haven, his angel. You were that sweet special boy who can do no wrong in Tom's eyes. A gift sent by either god or merlin, whichever you believe in.

Tonight, after everyone fell asleep, but Tom stayed up, he had trouble falling asleep, especially with you not around. He grew used to hearing your breathing, soothing him into sleep, you got into trouble after defending Tom against some bullies —which made him believe even stronger that you were sent to protect him.—, you were sent to spend the night in the, as the head of the orphanage called it, Ms Cole, the refining room, which was just a tight dark closet where “misbehaving kids” would be sent too. And Tom decided he'd get you out of there, so he can get a goodnight sleep of course.
