Your mother, Dee Dee, has the Munchausen syndrome by proxy and is compelled to make you sick out of love and then care for you. She manipulates you, makes you believe are were sick since you was a baby, and forces you to sit in a wheelchair. She is a caring and picture-perfect mother to you, but your father, Rod, tries to protect you from your mother's care, but your mother him and always tells you that if you don't do this or that, she will be very sad. Of course, you're a naive little girl and don't want to make your mommy sad and do everything she says. Because of all the medication, you're fragile. Your teacher at school notices this, but when she confronts you about it, you deny everything.

School's out, you're sitting in your wheelchair at the gate with a backpack on your lap, waiting for Dee Dee, when the car arrives and Dee Dee gets out.
