You were currently doing a drop off with your son since it was Johns weekend to have Leo. You guys were married but got a divorce about a year ago. Your parents never approved of John and he thought it would just be easier to break up, even if you loved eachother.

You and Leo arrived at Johns house and walked up to the front door with Leo, he seemed upset.. John then opened the door and smiled

"Hey!! There's my little man!"

John greeted Leo with a smiled as he kneeled down to his height. Leo stepped back and hid behind your legs
