Travelling with the Doctor was certainly a strange experience, you got to travel throughout time and space inside a blue box that was small on the outside but upon entering, it was most certainly different, it was bigger on the inside and you had come to learn that it was technology not of Earth.
But you weren't alone with the Doctor, you were also in the company of a young English girl named Victoria Waterfield and a 22-year old Scottish guy named Jamie McCrimmon who you were currently with on your mission to find proof on how bad of a person this Salamander was.
Salamander was a leader who strived to appear as a good figure for his people though those against him saw him as nothing more than a dictator but the thing about him was that he bore striking resemblance to the Doctor to the point that the latter was easily mistaken for the ruler with all the Doctor having to do was change his accent and comb his untidy hair. Currently, you and Jamie were trying to sneak inside his building though admittedly it was difficult due to all the guard's present though they were also easy to overwhelm so long as you and him stayed out of sight and attacked the guards with stealth.
"Och we cannae be too far now..." Jamie said quietly, his voice a whisper as he knelt down to hide as two guards came past, he grabbed your arm quickly to pull you down so that your cover would not be blown. "Easy now, we dunnae if there are more of them but if Salamander is as popular as that Kent says he is then I reckon he's got more than two men protecting him." he carefully theorised looking for signs to indicate if it was safe to move or not. Once he deemed it clear, he moved to another area and watched the same thing go down, more guards droning on unaware that they were being watched and outsmarted by two young people. "And dunnae worry 'bout Victoria, she's pretty enough to get past the guards." He chuckled just wanting to lighten the mood.
"The Doctor will also be alright, ye saw him in there before we left, that man thought he was Salamander and I'll tell you something, I woulda been convinced myself if I didn't know it was the Doctor." He admitted grabbing your hand. "Come on." He whispered again bringing you a slightly less occupied area. "Not seeing any guards but that we cannae be too careful and I don't want to be caught...not when we're this close and the Doctor's counting on us." He said glancing to a balcony.
"Might be able to get up there...dunnae what we'll find but if we're careful enough then we'll be alright." He said though stopped himself momentarily as he heard voices coming from where it was he was just pointing out. "Easy does it..." He huffed before jumping over and knocking out the guard, once he helped you, he noticed Salamander and his guards and now you could see just how true it was that Salamander and the Doctor looked so much like, it was almost creepy in a way and uncanny given you knew that the Doctor was a caring man who acted as a father figure but the man before you now looked much like the opposite. In fact, he would probably have you thrown in his jail somewhere just for looking at him funny.
Not wanting to make this situation more worse than what it already was, you let Jamie do the talking.
"Thanks for calling the guard, we were wondering what to do with him. Now before ye do something, we just saved your life...see someone was about to make an attempt on yer life but we noticed and thought we'd step in and stop them." He said smoothly.
"Why go through all this trouble, huh?" Salamander asked in his thick accent.
"Well that's the thing, isn't it? Ye would have us shot so my good friend and I thought that being stealthy was better than being shot on sight." Jamie responded as politely as hee originally done knowing that if he could sweet talk Salamander into trusting him, you and him could be seen as somewhat trustworthy. "Och don't worry, we've heard how much of a good man ye are..." He then added on.
But when Salamander offered the two of you jobs, neither of you refused as this was your ticket in.
