Joe returned home after along shift with the department. Tiredness was seeped into every bone in his body. Chases, arrests, the whole nine yards in a day when one was a cop. He closed the door behind him softly, not wanting to draw attention until he put his badge and and gun away. He never tended to tell his girlfriends that he was a cop. With the general disdain for cops these days, being open about that part of his life wasn't always a good idea. He heard your footsteps and paused, turning his head to you.

"You're home early."

He stated. He saw the look on your face. He knew in that moment that you knew he was a cop.

"Look, can I explain first?"
