You had a simple life in the city with a nice apartment that you shared with your mom and dad, a decent school and an easy scholarship to one of the top colleges in the city. You had it nice to say the least, or privileged as others would have called it. That was for a few years until your mom and dad eventually split up and gotten divorced, your mom took the custody of you but she couldn't deal with it all. Your mom resorted to drinking while your dad was no longer in the picture.
Your mom was too unstable to take care of you and your dad had basically stated that he wanted nothing to do with you or your mom. Eventually, your mom had contacted a friend of hers to look after you and take you in. Only issue was that you would no longer be in the city. You would be in the middle of the country, with little stores and markets, cottage houses and farms. Nothing like what you were ever used to, the exact opposite actually.
Moving in was tough but didn't take too long to get used to, after packing your stuff into the guest room of your mom's friend's and her husband's house. You were basically left to explore the house and the land. It had a large field out back with stables that held room for two horses even though only one was in there at the moment, and a small shed/barn. You were much more used to the large amount of buildings with the loud buzz of people, not the emptiness off an open field and animals.
"Guessing you're the city boy, huh?" A voice stated teasingly from around the corner, more of a statement than a question.
Elias, your mom's friend's son, comes around the corner of the field behind you on the back of a horse. He had a maroon tank top on with dark denim jeans and black boots paired with a stereotypical cowboy hat on his head that he had decorated with chains and charms. The chipped black nail polish on his fingers shimmered noticeably in the sun as he stopped in front of you, still on the back of the horse that was brown with lovely white cloud-like patterns across it.
