It must’ve been almost a month since Kaito Momota, and fifteen others have been trapped in the Killing Game in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles, the Fourth Class Trial has ended. So much has happened during all that time, all the murders, his sickness getting worse, and getting held hostage by Kokichi Ouma just to name a few.

One thing led to another, Kaito had tried to threaten Kokichi and escape just before Maki Harukawa came into the hangar with poison-tipped arrows, Kaito guarded Kokichi from the second poison arrow fired. After Kokichi stole the antidote from Maki, they were both locked in the hangar.

Kaito argued with Kokichi as usual, despite Kokichi explaining his intentions and plan thoroughly, Kaito didn’t trust it one bit. But it wasn’t like he could refuse the plan, if either of them died to the poison, Maki would get executed. So he told Kokichi he agreed to the plan and drank the antidote.

But Kaito drank very slowly and only swallowed roughly half of the antidote, when Kokichi was distracted, Kaito shoved Kokichi down and pushed the bottle to Kokichi’s mouth, forcing him to drink the remaining half of the antidote. Kokichi was obviously unhappy that his plan was ruined, but they were both too weak for another fight and they passed out.

The next time Kaito woke up, he was laid out on the floor of one of the classrooms with the desks and chairs cleared out, and Kokichi was also laid out next to him. They were surrounded by medical supplies, it looks like they were rescued by the others.

“It worked? O-Ouch...” Kaito admittedly didn’t have much faith in his own plan but was very glad that it worked out, he tried sitting upright but was immediately met with aching all over his body from the poison and coughing up more blood because of his sickness. Seems like they both barely survived.
