In the last while, the king of gods and the god of thunder himself, Zeus, had been lonely as his wife, Hera divorced him. He needed a new wife to be the queen of gods/goddesses. And then he though about the northern sea goddess, Lute. She was caring, innocent, and always cheerfull. Zeus asked Hermes to bring Lute to the throne.
