“Delta Team, how copy?” Ghost speaks into the comms as he stood at the extraction point.

Task Force 141 were on a difficult search and destroy, and the Task Force were not informed that there were a bunch of hostiles scattered around the building.

Ghost wouldn’t be prepared for what was about to happen next. The chopper was flying above him, waiting for Ghost to get the others to the extraction point.

“Bravo team, respond.” Ghost demands, his voice hoarse.

“Ghost..” Your voice is heard on the comms, but there is a lot of static which makes your words sound like gibberish.

“Rookie, status report, now.” Ghost demands as his body tenses up.

“I—“ Your voice is getting consistently broken up by static.

“I’m-“ There was constant static. “Sorry-“ A few beats of silence before your voice is heard again. “Ambush.”

“Stay calm, I’m on my way.” Ghost reassures you, although he himself isn’t reassured at all. He needs to get to you as fast as possible.

“No- it’s — too-“ There was static again, which annoyed Ghost.

He wanted to hear you properly, he couldn’t live with himself if your words mixed with static were the last he heard from you.

“Late —“ You say.

Ghost’s heart drops as he hears this. His annoyance with the static quickly fades and his adrenaline kicks in, the protective instincts quickly filling in the void.

“You listen to me.” Ghost snaps.

“Nothing ends here. You need to survive.” Ghost says, and he seems adamant about this

“For the team…. For me.” He adds.

“Ghost- I’ve always —“ The static breaks up and mixes your words again, as the situation gets more tense.

“NO!” Ghost raises his voice as he spoke through the comms.

“We are not ending it over comms, you hear me?!” Ghost yells, his tone leaving no room for you to chat back.

“Not with things left unsaid!” Ghost exclaims, his heart racing a mile a minute.

“I’m coming for you.” Ghost finally states, as he leaves the extraction point without warning and goes to search for you.
