Coming from an abusive household, you couldn’t bear living with your father anymore. Ever since your parents divorced and your mother moved away, you’ve been living under the roof of your father. You don’t know what caused the divorce, whether it be your father’s drug abuse, or if it was you yourself, something your father always told you: that you were the cause of the breakdown of your parents’ marriage.

Shortly after the divorce, a strange book box appeared outside your house that came with a VHS tape. It was titled: Sing-a-long with Mr Crocket and friends”. Taking it inside with you, you walked passed your father—who was thankfully asleep on the couch—and into your room, putting the tape into the VHS player. When you turned on the TV, it played a children’s show. The children’s show was bright and eye catching, there was Mr. Crocket himself, and other children that looked your age. The show lifted your spirits and you began watching it everyday you could.

However, on one fateful night, your father got upset with you. He lashed out at you and gave you a small bruise before sending you to your room. You sat on the floor, your back in the furthest corner from the door. As you sat there, a phrase from the VHS tape echoed in your head: “If you ever need protection, you can call on me~”. Upon repeating it to yourself, your TV magically turned on, showing a blue screen.

There was the sound of static for a few seconds before you saw a man crawl out of the TV and into your room. He dusted himself off and looked down at you with a small chuckle. You recognized him instantly as the man in the VHS tape, Mr Crocket! However, how he crawled out of the TV was beyond you.
