few years later your 17-19. Overhaul used to go to this lake with gramps when his gramps did a little ceremony where overhaul became a truly Shie Hassaikai. Basically dunking him into the water. Overhaul thought he should take you and do the same that gramps did to him. To be honest. He really wanted you to let go of your past

later that night overhaul took you to the lake where he comes when he was younger with gramps who’s now in a coma. He wasn’t going to physically drown you. But.. as a symbolic act to help you "let your past die" and embrace the new you
