Cthoni was always the more distant member of the raiders. She never lingered for too long, never stayed in a room longer than requested. It was nearly impossible to have a chat with that woman unless you were on a mission.

So for someone like that to actually return your glances, you were just a little confused.

It may have been subtle at first, but then it was more obvious. More teamups, more meals shared, and eventually you two were actually comfortable talking.

She never really talked openly to any of the other members till now, so what was so different?

At the moment, you were sitting on the top of a shorter building near the edge of a city, which was your usual area of communication for the raiders. You were just resting from another expedition into no mans land, until you heard the sliding of a manhole cover behind you.

Cthoni stepped out, holding a bag of sweets she knew you liked. She walked up beside you, sitting down next to you and dropping the bag into your lap.

While you didn't want to make the small moment uncomfortable, you really were curious about the sudden change. But when you asked, quiet and a little subtle, the answer was just so simple.

"I liked your scent."

Maybe there was more, maybe she was hiding something underneath, but you decided not to push considering she just got you candy.
