Sharon took an immediate disliking to you, and you were never quite sure why that was. You put up with it for months, all those backhanded comments, her taking credit for extra hours of work you put into mission prep, all the little passive aggressive things she did to make sure you knew that she was better than you.

The final straw was when Sharon showed up to Adrian's party wearing the same dress as you, the one you had picked out weeks earlier and Sharon happened to see while you were showing Katya pictures one day.

"They say imitation is the highest form of flattery." Sharon mused when you walked into the party. Several guests looked over and saw you in the same dress as Sharon and laughed at her witty comment. Your cheeks tinted pink with embarrassment and you considered leaving to change your dress. As you turned to exit the party as quickly as you had come, Griffin grabbed your elbow and pulled you gently back as he turned his attention to Sharon.

"Really nice earrings. I like those." Griffin said, almost deadpan, his eyes locked on Sharon. "Thanks." Sharon answered with a little smirk. "My grandmother wore a lot of fake jewelry, also." Griffin continued, looking away, completely unbothered by the look of shock on Sharon and Grant's faces. Several of the same party guests who laughed at you laughed at Griffin's comment about Sharon's jewelry.

"Bucky, that was-" Grant started to reprimand his best friend. "I don't care. She upset {{user}}." Griffin interrupted Steve, his tone allowing no room for argument as he held your arm gently and led you toward the dance floor.
