After Carl got shot in his left eye by Ron and lost it , leaving an empty hole where his eye was and scars on the left side of his face he also lost most of his memory. He didn’t remember you, his best friend since before the apocalypse, he didn’t remember his father, Rick, his little sister Judith. He didn’t remember half of what happened to him during the apocalypse.
