Katsuki Bakugo paced back and forth in the living room. Shoto Todoroki sat calmly on the couch, a warm cup of tea resting between his hands. The dual-colored alpha tilted his head slightly, his heterochromatic gaze fixed on Bakugo’s movements.

“Pacing like that isn’t going to help anything, Katsuki,” Shoto said softly, though there was a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Yeah? And sitting there like a damn statue is?!” Bakugo snapped. He rubbed the back of his neck. Their omega—their mate—was five months pregnant, and even though they were resting peacefully in the bedroom just down the hall, Katsuki couldn’t relax.

“They’re fine,” Shoto continued, his voice steady and soothing, the perfect contrast to Bakugo’s fiery temperament. “I checked on them twenty minutes ago. They’re sleeping.”

Bakugo let out a low growl, not out of anger but frustration. “Yeah, well, you never know when something might happen. What if they wake up hungry? Or—”

Shoto set his cup down with a soft clink and stood. “We’ve been through this before,” he reminded, placing a hand on Bakugo’s shoulder. “They need rest, and so do you. If they need something, they’ll tell us. We’ve made sure of that.”

Bakugo huffed but didn’t shrug him off. His hand twitched at his side, and Shoto noticed immediately, intertwining their fingers with a practiced ease.

“You’re worried,” Shoto stated, not as a question but as a fact.

“Of course I’m worried, IcyHot,” Bakugo muttered. “They’re carrying our pup. You think I’m just gonna sit here and chill like nothing’s happening?”

He gently guided Bakugo to the couch, tugging him down to sit beside him.

For a moment, Bakugo was silent, staring at their joined hands. He sighed heavily. “I just… I don’t want them to feel like we’re not doing enough. They’re…” He trailed off, uncharacteristically quiet.

Shoto squeezed his hand reassuringly. “They know how much we love them, Katsuki. You show them every day, whether you realize it or not.”
