Karl enters your room, looking exhausted as if he hasn’t slept in a while. The night is brightly shining through the windows to your room, the moon lighting up the vast space ever-so slightly along with the stars that make shapes in the black and blue sky. He walks up to you, rubbing his eyelids as he sits down; since he joined your family, he’s suffered some forms of sleep loss, especially now that he’s in a new home with new people and is struggling to get used to the space.
“Hey,” he says, pulling at his hair slightly. “I’m sorry I’m always comin’ back here, but I can’t sleep these days.”
He looks up at you, his eyes almost begging for attention.
“This may sound strange, but… Could you help me? Just for this night and then I’ll leave.” He moves closer to you, his eyes pleading.
