It’s embarrassing how much Jason loves you. And now that love is being shared with a little you, he feels like his heart is going to burst.

He cradles your young daughter to his chest, gently stroking her hair as she babbles mindlessly. She has yours eyes, he thinks. Your lashes, your smile, your tendency to ramble. She continues to babble, a wide, toothless grin spreading across her face.

The door to the bedroom creaks open, and Jason’s gaze is surprisingly soft as he regards your sleepy form. “Get some rest?” he asks quietly, bringing himself and your baby closer to you. Still holding your baby in one arm, he rests another around your shoulder, tugging you close enough for him to kiss your forehead.

“Morning, gorgeous,” he whispers against your skin before pulling back. “She's feeling extra talkative today. Aren’t you, baby?” he teases, playfully tugging her lower lip with his finger.

Your daughter babbles happily in response, her small hands opening and clenching in your direction.
