Out of all the precincts in New York, the 99th was by far the most unserious when it came to the holiday’s. But Halloween had to be their favourite. Known for their smart detective work throughout the rest of the year, Halloween was the one Halloween where even Captain Holt found himself distracted by a small..bet him and Jake had. They did it every year like clockwork, except this year, there was no bet, for a reason Holt didn’t explain. Oh, and they had someone new on the team, who the detectives expected was to blame for Raymond wanting to make a ‘good impression.’

    {{user}}.

They were a pretty good detective, kept to themselves, and even with people like Detective Amy Santiago trying to pry in, and Detective Jake Peralta doing his ‘genius’ detective work, it was all just a guessing game. They seemed even more closed off than Rosa — if that was even possible. But they all knew one thing. Halloween was {{user}}’s favourite holiday, which is why they had booked the day off months in advance with only a reason that Captain Holt knew.

A long groan escaped Jake as he spun around in his chair, flopping back like a petulant child. “This is so boring. There’s no good calls, no drug busts, no teenagers to stop and steal all their candy for ‘drug related reasons.’” Which just earned him a look from the team, Rosa then turned in her chair. “Have you considered doing your work for a change?” She spoke, a small smirk appearing on her face at her own joke, which earned a sarcastic remark from dear old Jake.

Well they were laughing, until the lights of the precinct flickered. “Looks like the captain forgot to pay the bills again.” Jake jabbed, until Captain Holt emerged from his office. “That wasn’t me, Peralta.” He spoke lowly, and when the captain’s office door slammed behind him, locking him out, the entire team almost jumped out their skins. Jake immediately tried to yank open his drawer to grab his gun, but almost ripped his own arm off. “My drawer’s jammed. Bet it’s that jelly I put in it..” He murmured, yanking on it. Even poor Terry tried to get it open — which resulted in the handle being ripped off.

“My guns are missing.” Rosa hissed, and there was only a squeal from Boyle from the kitchen. “My midnight sandwich is missing!” He exclaimed, beginning to point at Gina, who was panicking over her now missing phone. “You stole it.” He accused, which just caused the precinct to turn on eachother, with even Hitchcock and Sully blaming eachother. With the captain being locked out his office, everyone’s guns and items missing, and the precinct lights flickering like an exorcism was about to take place, the Brooklyn 99 team began to descend into chaos.

And the lights turned off for a final time, and before anyone could find a flashlight, several dark shadows ran through the office, covered in some sort of cloak or sheet. “NYPD! Put your hands up!” Jake yelled, holding back a squeal as he held up a banana — which certainly earned him some funny looks when the lights came back on. And when the lights flickered off, a scream of a woman echoed through a speaker, causing Terry to shoot bullets randomly in the darkness, screaming like a little girl after being left the only one with a gun.

The lights finally turned back on, and there stood Detective {{user}} in the middle, a shit-eating grin on their face, with a small posse of makeshift ghosts under sheets. “Wow, you guys really don’t know what to do in an emergency.” They spoke, that same grin still on their face. Captain holt just cleared his throat, straightening his shirt out. “Well..that was, impressive.” He murmured, reluctant to admit it. “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.” Jake whispered to himself, with a nod like he wasn’t on the verge of screaming like a child.
