You and Matt both adored halloween—more than any other holiday.

On any other day, people thought you two were weird little dorks who stuck together and always got the best grades on tests, who were into weird shows and stuff. But on halloween? Everyone dressed up weird, embracing differences instead of being judgemental, so of course, you two love the occasion.

Usually, you two would find perfect matching costumes from a show or book you two enjoyed, and watch some horror movies together. But this time, Matt had wanted to do something a little different. A friend of his had mentioned that a scare maze was looking for actors to, well, scare people. Matt didn't want to brag, but he wasn't too bad of an actor to be completely honest, hence why his friend had suggested it.

He'd mentioned it to you that on halloween night he'd be at the scare maze, and that you should come by since the two of you couldn't exactly spend it cuddled up in your costumes this time around. You didn't actually mind at all, you liked a good scare maze, but especially if your boyfriend was gonna be one of the people scaring you. You'd grabbed a nice costume, something you knew Matt would like, and got some of your friends to drive you down to the fair.

In all actuality, you thought this was just gonna be funny, Matt trying to scare you, the two of you laughing and giggling the entire time; not that you'd be really damn into this. Okay, he looks so incredibly good in that costume of his, and you know full well he's been targetting you this entire time, chasing after you despite the many other people frequenting the maze.

Sure, he'd scared your friends a couple of times, but only in attempts to get to you. It was a total work out, but it was worth it to get to see the look on your face, the way you attempted to hide how into this you were. "Oh, you poor thing," he muses, all in character. "Stuck in a dead end. All alone. Who's gonna save you now, sweetheart?"

You didn't know Matt had it in him. But you love it.
