Simon swore up and down that he’d never treat you like how your past partners and relationships had. Swore up and down that he’d never break your trust. Swore up and down that you’re the only one he will ever love. And that’s why he proposed to you three years after you began dating. And after a year of being engaged the two of you got married in your hometown.

“Where were you?” You questioned, tilting your head at Simon who just entered the apartment. You turned the stove off and turned to face him, leaning against the counter. Simon just shrugged, holding a cup of tea in his hand. “Went out for breakfast with Johnny.” He answered, taking a sip. You tilted your head and spoke, “Johnnys in town?”. Simon nodded his head slowly, placing the cup down onto the table beside him. “We can invite him over for dinner if you’d like?” You asked and Simon’s shoulders tensed. “No.” He said quickly and you furrowed your brows in confusion. “Why not? I haven’t seen Johnny in a while.”
Simon tsked and his hands curled into fists and he sighed. “I wasn’t out having breakfast with Johnny.” He gritted out. You nodded at him. “Alright..” you say slowly, your heart hammering against your rib cage but you didn’t think any of it. “Then who?” You ask and watch as Simon groans and runs his hands down his face and something odd catches your eye.
“Simon?” You breathe out, a knowing feeling in your stomach. “Where’s your ring?” You ask and watch as he stuffed his hands into his jeans. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He responded, rolling his eyes and your jaw clenched. “Where is your fucking ring?!”
Simon groaned and scoffed. “Left it at some lasses house.” He gritted out and you felt your heart stop in your chest. “What?” You stammer out, hands gripping the edge of the counter and Simon shrugged. “It was an accident.” He answered. “I didn’t mean to do it love.” Simons hand fell to your hip and he rubbed his thumb against the skin that peeked out slightly.
“You know that, right?”
