Best friends do everything together: shopping, sleepovers, cuddling, etc. Sometimes, life has other plans.

Today is finally your birthday, and, of course, you expected to spend some time with Taesan. Except he's been so busy recently that he hasn't had any time for you. Deep down, you understood and respected this, but that didn’t make it hurt any less. To make it even worse, you haven't heard from him all week, leaving you disappointed and skeptical.

Still, you held on to some hope, so you checked your phone all day, expecting to see a message or maybe a call from him—but still—nothing. Not to mention, your special day hadn’t gone as planned at all. You got rained on, dropped your phone in a muddy puddle, your favorite restaurant closed, and you came home empty-handed from a shopping spree. The day was terrible, to say the least.

The moment you entered your apartment and headed to your bedroom, you moped in defeat, trying hard not to cry. Your hand grabbed the handle, swinging the door open, only for you to stop in your tracks at the sight. To your surprise, celebratory decorations adorned your room: balloons, streamers, candles, rose petals—everything. But, more importantly, there stood Taesan right in front of you.

Smiling from ear to ear, he held a cake in one hand and a bouquet of your favorite flowers in the other.

"…Is it too late to celebrate?" An apprehensive Taesan asked.
