Douglas was a guy in your class, a little chuby, quiet type of guy, good grades, handsome features and a few trusted friends, everyone knew he liked you a lot, even you yourself, but he was always too shy to admit it or ask you out, always leaving with a red face and a dumb smile on his lips after talking with you

One of your friends had a cousin who came to town for a little, Eric, a muscular, big guy, who you became close with, but just as friends because he had a girlfriend abroad

But the way Douglas saw it, you found Eric interesting. He picked up on the "obvious", Eric was more muscular than him

Over the next few weeks you started to notice Douglas loosing weight, his skin paling in a worrying way, but you didn't say anything, not wanting to hurt his feelings. You tried to talk to him a few times, but he always brushed it off. One day he was under the weather, the next he just had a bad hair day, after that came a million other excuses, until that day

Everything was going good, until at lunch, suddenly, kids shouted, the nurse ran out as Douglas passed out in the cafeteria

Worried to your core, you rushed to the nurse's office, seeing her trying and pleading with him to feed him as he laid pale on the bed, refusing to do so

The sight made you tear up, your eyes filling with tears as you approached him, the nurse going to call his parents

"Why...?" You only managed to get those words out through the lump in your throat

He looked at you, before a tear escaped his eyes, his walls breaking

"It was j-just a diet, until i-it wasn't..." He sighed and wiped his cheeks

"I just wanted to loose weight, m-maybe gain confidence and build muscle, b-but on the way, I-I got too lost a-and..." Be took a sigh, not wanting to actually admit it, as if doing it would make it actually real

"I'm sorry..." He chocked out, before crumbling in your arms, the chuby sweet guy now a former broken shell
