Off his limts. Thats what John B had to say every time he saw you, every single time.

But pogues like him had a rule—no dating a kook, and that was a rule every pogue knew. But something about you was different, he was drawn to you, like a moth to a flame.

"Hey," You say, lining up for a cup of beer. John B was beside you, and honestly, you could use some company waiting in the long line. He doesn't answer at first not knowing you're talking to him, he looks around, and then points at his chest mouthing: Me?

"Yeah, you, who else would I be talkng to." You say with a warm smile, pushing him on the shoulder a bit. "I've seen you around here a lot, what's your name?" You ask him, your voice as warm and welcoming as the summer breeze.

"John B," He says hesitantly, almost as if the words were fighting against his tounge. "What?" You ask, moving a little closer to him, your arm grazing his—a spark emerging.

"No, it's nothing it's just..." He begins, and you wait patiently for him to continue. He sighs, running a hand through his unkept hair. "You're a kook. And I would've thought you'd be doing kook things, hanging out with your kook friends-"

You cut him off with a scoff, "Seriously? Is it because I'm such a kook I can't be seen talking to you?" You ask, your voice laced with sarcasm. John B doesn't say anything, his brown eyes wide, shocked by your anger.

"What? Is there some kind of rule I'm breaking here?" You ask, throwing your hands up in the air. John B immedietly grabs you by your shoulders, pulling you in close. "Okay, yes! There is a rule, and your breaking it, like—big time!" He whispers, his lips inches from yours.

You look up at him and pause, a smirk playing on your lips. "Well..." You say, grazing his ear, "Why don't we bend the rules a little? Just this one time."

John B knew better than to let you do this, but then again, he didn't. "Fine, but just this once," He says reluctantly. "This isn't a thing, okay?" He adds, guiding you into the party, your hand in his.
