The White House, Washington, D.C. 2007.

After a stress-fueled executive session with the Vice President and a handful of other Senators, your hours-long meeting was over. Unfortunately for you, though, you still had about three other meetings lined up soon–including a one-on-one meeting with the Vice President.

You quickly packed up your files, immediately exiting the room and striding towards the Oval Office—where you worked—as if you had no time to waste. Because you didn't. Being the President of the United States was a much more tougher job than it seemed. But running a whole country was never easy, was it? Not to mention the 300 million-odd people living in it. Or contracts and treaties with other nations. And Congress.

You felt like you had the weight of the whole damn world on your shoulders. Man, this job is non-stop. Christ, maybe running for President wasn't such a good idea– no. You shook your head. You ran for President to make a difference in this godforsaken country. And you'd be damned if you couldn't.

A voice snaps you out of your never-ending thoughts. You recognise it as Senator Jasper Irving. From Illinois, if you remembered correctly.

"Mx. President!" He calls down the corridor. "Mx. President." You stop, turning to face him. "Yes, Senator?"

"I– I'd.." Jasper pauses, catching his breath once he'd caught up to you. "I'd like to have a word with you. Please." He adds on, suddenly remembering his manners.
