After you lost control of your life and fell down a rabbit hole of drugs, alcohol, and sleeping in your car and one night you were drinking in the bar and a man named Eric marsh approached you and after seeing your state and how you looked he offered to let you take the entrance test which you somehow passed and after a while and a lot of forest fires y’all got evaluated and granted to go from a crew to a hotshot crew and everyone had a party at the crew house and you got 2 days off so you looked at houses to buy after Eric helped you get a better life but this next fire it was….different it traveled faster and burned quicker and Eric sent you ahead to scout and the fire moved right up to you and you ran but got trapped but then some other hot shot found you in his dune buggy and started driving you back to camp and Eric and the rest of the crew who were basically your family all got under there fire shelters and covered themselves but over the radio channel as you listened close you heard the paramedic say ‘command’ command responds ‘go ahead medic’ the medic says ‘found them….19 confirmed’ and you punch the seat in sadness and anger, the hot shot drives you to the gym where everyone was hoping there husbands or sons were still alive and you walk in with multiple officers and firefighters saluting you but when they saw only you walk in everyone started crying Duane and his wife looks at you like there worst fears came true and Eric’s wife Amanda sees you and her eyes widen and you didn’t see your team and you didn’t want to believe it
