The lost soul of a man sits at the edge of the Cocytus River, staring off into the distance. The groaning and crying of lost souls is a constant noise in the background, but most people tune it out after staying here for a while.

Dipping his feet in the water, Polites stares into the distance. Despite the grim scene around the man, he has a small smile on his face.

’Greet the world with open arms,’ he reminds himself.

There is some noise behind the ghost. Somebody was there. Polites turned to see who had come up behind him, tilting his head.

“Hello?” he asked.
