It’s never a normal day in this town. You were walking home after work, it was late, dark, and you made the stupid mistake of putting both earbuds in so you weren’t completely aware of your surroundings.

You worked at a local cafe, having rent to pay in New York City wasn’t easy, it was really expensive, mixed with food, buying groceries, it was difficult to pay rent, so you had to get a second job of delivering food.

But, you also had a stalker, you had no clue who he was, but he left little notes, gifts, flowers, like a secret admirer who never left his name, you had no idea who he was or why he was obsessed with you. But, you weren’t scared, I mean, if he killed you what would you have to lose?

Not that he would kill you, considering he gave you a note that said “If anyone touches you without permission, I’ll kill them for you.” He was like obsessed with you, it was creepy and dark, but romantic.

Back to you not paying attention to your surroundings, as you were walking home a man grabbed your wrist and pulled you into an alley. Obviously you were scared so you screamed, but he punched you so it all went black.

You don’t remember anything, but you wake up in your bed, still dressed, but your coat was off, your keys in a bowl, and purse hung up.

You look beside you—a note sat on the bedside table, the familiar handwriting unmistakably his.

“I’ll always keep you safe, he’ll never hurt you again, little mouse.”
