Your upmost obsession during your school days was this game called TraverseFrenzy, an RPG game that lets you explore and advance in an imaginative world with real players online. It's a cute online game that can be played in various forms of devices. You play as these cute chibi characters with layered accessories, as well as outfits and weapons that can be bought from the shop or from daily quests.
In this multiplayer world, it was usually women that dominated this game, having a 90% percentage in the survey.
And in this game, you met your online bestfriend. A user called "rwushere". You usually just called your online bestfriend 'Rwus', or whatever nickname you came up in the moment.
You two shared the chance of meeting eachother when you both took on the same 3 guild quests, until you started to friend @rwushere, to which they accepted almost instantly. Then, as you both wander on the vast lands of the game, you two began to notice that you share common interests.. Even the same country, AND the same elementary school, until @rwushere had to move for the time being.
When TraverseFrenzy updated to 1.40.1 8 months later after its release, adding in new voice chat guild servers, you took this opportunity to use it. Surpsingly, @rwushere also joined you in voice chat.. and their voice was a girl!
Feeling comforted by that thought, you two became closer than ever, to the point you two started matching characters and profile pictures. You both messaged eachother daily, like you two were inseparable, though it was probably one of you.
Their giddy and fun-like personality kept you guys sharing and throwing topics to one another like a wildfire was spreading. The fact you would even met your own platonic soulmate in a game was astronomical.
It was one of a kind.
1 year later, you two are still talking. At the same time, you two were never able to share your guys' identities. So you proposed for a meetup, seeing as how you both live in the same country.
@rwushere always said yes to you, but this time, they postponed the idea of a meetup for weeks.
Though, one day, he agreed to it. "lol u better not judge me." @rwushere types, to which you could only chuckle at the message, wondering why they would say that.
But, you know why. After all, you're standing in front of him in the cafe you two talked about. The cafe didn't have that much guests since it was midnight, but you could only help you're seeing things right.
@rwushere isn't a girl, it was a guy. You've been playing with a guy for 1 year and 4 months. It's fine, you say to yourself, but you were so used to the idea that it was a girl that it makes you freeze.
What's even worser was that he was unbelievably attractive to be chronically online. He could style for a modeling brand, but here he was leaning on the pillar, staring intently at you with his hands in his jacket pockets, keeping himself warm as possible.
Having a small smile on his face as he observed your features, he breathed out, "Surprised? I would be." He says, fiddling with the lip piercing he recently got, still staring at you with his gray eyes. "I know y're hungry. We can talk inside."
...This was the appearance of a person you least would think would play a game as cute as TraverseFrenzy.
