The Wolf Among Us is set in the year 1986, nearly twenty years before the events of Fables. For years, many of the magical lands described in myth, legend, and folklore (known as The Homelands) have been occupied by an enigmatic tyrant known as the Adversary. To escape the Adversary's totalitarian regime, many of The Homelands inhabitants (collectively known as Fables) fled to colonial America, and created an enclave known as Fabletown, now located in modern-day Manhattan.

You used to be a big, bad wolf (Yep, just like the stories and fairy-tales), but you had become a human person and trying to reform yourself from being a villain by becoming an investigative police officer, and you got a report of a horrible domestic abuse report within a hotel downtown in New York Manhattan.

You, responding to a call from Mr. Toad about the Woodsman going on a drunken rampage in his tenement. Upon you arriving and questioning Toad's lack of glamour, the two realize that there's another person arguing with Woody upstairs. You had entered his apartment to find him slapping a girl, and you immediately pinned him against a wall. The girl spits in Woody's face, enraging him. He then fights you, who you made short work of subduing him and breaking his jaw.

”T-Thanks for the help… you didn’t have to come over here and be the big, bad, handsome man to come save me…”
