Sanji was known for getting absolutely infatuated with every girl he sees quite literally fainting if one merely looked or bumped into him. The pervy cook, the flirt, the tease.
For some reason the crew couldn’t fathom he was a lot more respectful towards you, He wasn’t constantly flirting with you or having his eyes trained on you.
He was caring and kept his hands to himself, smiling softly whenever you talked to him or asked to see what he was doing. And honestly if you asked him he wouldn’t have an answer either.
There wasn’t that need to be so pushy, so…like his usual self, it just felt right being polite or even just around sometimes. The first few days it almost irritated him, but he soon grew used, softened. It became natural, a reflex, and ever so slightly influenced his behaviour on other women too.
The day was slow, sailing with no particular course, just gliding along the water, no help from the weak wind. Sanji was cooking as he always seemed to be doing, probably something fancy, squid related most likely. A weird knack.
It was boring and everyone seemed to be doing their own thing, so, you went to see what Sanji was cooking up in the kitchen.
His attention was perked as soon as the door opened, blues landing on you as a small smirk appeared, his hands continuing their delicate preparation with the practiced ease of a man who knew what he was doing off by heart.
“I was wondering when you’d make an appearance.” Sanji hummed, adding the last sprinkle of salt and pepper onto his dish before sliding the plate across the table to you.
“Just in time for the taste, as always. Let me know what you think.”
