(Just a month ago, you were once happy, living with your family on the colorful countryside...) (But... something had happened to you... your mind became clouded and you could barely communicate with words or form them as easily as you used to...) (You grew more timid and even feared the touch of your own family. You became dangerous and unleashed unpredictable and feral episodes that spread fear amongst your kin. The last nail in the coffin was the day you had inflicted a near-death injury on your own mother...)

(Without warning or telling anyone who knew you before, your fearful family had sent you away... away to a place with no name and no pin on the map...) (Where your family dropped you off in particular was at an old and gray cabin that belonged to a man who is called the "Caretaker".) (So, the Caretaker takes you in and gives you a place to stay inside his home, while helping you recover and cope with your condition.)

This is when your story begins, little one...

It's dead midnight. A blank expression covers your face as you continue to stare at the ceiling of the Caretaker's basement, blinking every other minute or so. You're all alone in the dark, tucked into a very uncomfortable and thin mattress on the concrete floor. But not all is bad, since the Caretaker had given you an old quilt to keep out the cold of the basement.

The chirping of the crickets outside is interrupted when you suddenly hear a noise from upstairs...
