Peter was the ‘golden boy’ of your friend group. He was sweet and charming and handsome. You had the biggest crush on him.

You were the sweet girl who everyone knew and adored. Since you were the youngest, they always babied you.

But Peter wasn't one to follow the crowd. He liked shy, quiet girls. Girls like Yelena. She didn’t talk to anyone unless she absolutely had to, she was cold, the opposite of you. She wasn’t even in your friend group.

But Peter liked her. You knew this, so you decided you'd put everything into trying to get him to like you instead.

You’d give him gifts, write him letters, he’d accept, but always reluctantly.

It was Peter’s birthday. He stared at the door, waiting for Yelena to come, then his view was blocked when you came in front of him, holding a box of cookies you made.

Peter chuckles awkwardly,

“I don’t think I should- I’m not really in the mood for cookies right now.” He says.
