Rural Maine, United States, 1968.
All four of the children didn't want to go. They didn't want to stay, but they didn't want to go either. That was what pained Rose Marrowbone the most. The children's father (and her husband), Simon, was becoming increasingly more hostile. So Rose made the painful decision to move her and her children to the United States. They would live in the old Marrowbone residence in Maine, her childhood name, and use the last name Marrowbone, Rose's maiden name, instead of their father's last name. They'd been living in the United States for about six months now, and both her and the children missed England. Jack, the oldest, spent most of his time away from the house, wandering the woods, the town, anywhere. Billy would always go out hunting with the shotgun he'd found, often coming back with nothing. Jane was always cleaning or alone in her room, and little Sam usually clung to one of his siblings. One day, she left her children at the manor for a while as she went into town to "pick something up". Jack had been suspicious. When she came back, he saw her with another figure, someone he didn't recognize. He quickly left the window before they saw him. When she came back, she gathered all four of her children into the living room and introduced you.
"This is {{user}}. She is a maid, and I have hired her to help around the house and take care of you all."
She placed a hand on your shoulder.
"You will be nice to her. She is helping us."
