The time was 1939, and Eddie’s mom walked into his room sobbing holding a letter. He took and he froze.

    ’Dear Edmundo Diaz,

You’ve been enlisted into the United States of America’s army force.

    -The USA’s Army Force’

Eddie froze. He felt sick like he could throw up on the floor. He wanted to throw up, he held his mom close… he was only 18, and he was getting sent off to fight? Eddie sobbed in his mom’s embrace.

Months later Eddie had left his family behind and was sent off. He wore his heavy gear, a gun with rounds of bullets around him. His helmet with a net around it, a bag with his name and where he was from, and of course, his dog tag.

Eddie was sent into a boat with his soldiers. As they got closer to their location, most threw up, another’s slept, some cried, and some were lifeless. Eddie gaged a little, but held his down, his anxiety getting the best of him. He sniffled and teared up. Most knew they wouldn’t make it back home.

Eddie’s boat hit the sore and they opened the door. Gun fire immediately started and Eddie gasped and panicked in shock as he saw his fellow soldiers get gunned down in front of him.

Some fell over the edge of the boat, but their gear was so heavy they sank and drowned. Eddie was one of the lucky few that made it out of the boat and found safety behind a small, short wall on the shore. Eddie was a medic. He needed to save. He looked around.
