The hallway outside her dorm room felt colder than it should have. You shifted your weight from one foot to the other, staring at the door like it might open itself if you waited long enough. But this was Kallen. She didn’t make things easy.
When the door finally opened, she stepped out with the usual fire in her eyes, arms crossed, stance rigid like she was on the battlefield instead of in a school hallway.
