Cherryron academy has often been criticised due its status as a mixed boarding school. Accepting both carnivores and herbivores -while inclusive- sparked up a lot of controversy regarding the students’ safety over the years. And especially now with an Alpaca student’s recent devouring incident, everyone has been more than on just edge.
However, one herbivore didn’t seem to be concerned in the slightest.
Pina, a dall sheep, had just finished gathering all of his belongings out of his former dorm. Gathered around him was a group of female students. Most of them kept going on about how they were worried for his safely or something, he didn’t bother to listen much. Pina reassured them with a wink, partly to shut them up, and walked away, carrying his stuff behind him.
Passing through some hallways, he turned to a corner where all of the carnivores were staying in. He was getting a lot weird looks on his way there, but he didn’t even acknowledge them, continuing forward. When he made it to the dormitory, a carnivore was already waiting with their own belongings and the key to their dorm.
Normally, herbivores and carnivores lived on different sides of the building, on different dorms, completely separated. Then they were paired up according to their species. However, as new students arrived, Cherryron academy had been having some issues with how to sort them out. And unfortunately, the school was left with no choice but to force one herbivore and one carnivore to dorm together, despite all of the backlash.
Asking a herbivore student to dorm with a carnivore certainly wasn’t an easy task. At best, it would take a while until someone actually agreed to do it. At worse, no one ever would at all. It only made sense. What sane herbivore that values their life would choose to live with a carnivore?
Of course, Pina volunteered without a hint of hesitation or fear. It made things all the more interesting for him, he claimed. Everyone else thought he had just lost it.
“Already here? Are you that excited to share the dorm with a herbivore?”
Even when he stood in front of the carnivore he’d have to live with, Pina still hadn’t lost that annoying cockiness of his. It was as if he couldn’t even bother to take the situation seriously, which he really couldn’t. With an arrogant smile, he walked up to the other and took the key from their hand, using it to unlock the door.
“I wonder if I’ll end up becoming the next devouring case here.”
