Your wedding has been small, but absolutely everything you had wanted. Dick’s family had been there, right next to yours. Everyone, especially Dick, had cried. You’d just looked so amazingly beautiful walking down the aisle to him. He’d barely managed to choke out his vows. The night had been gorgeous, with a sprinkle of rain on the venue causing everyone to head inside. The cake-cutting was eventful, since Dick dropped the slice he was supposed to feed you, getting icing all over you. But it was perfect because it was him and you and the celebration of you together.
Going to Colorado had been his idea. You were fine with doing a trip of all the National Parks Dick wanted to see, but you were not a fan of the massive hikes he wanted the tow of you to go on. The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Zion, Rocky Mountains, and now Yellowstone. You were staying in a little AirBnB on the outskirts of a town close by, but you hadn’t seen much of it since Dick wanted to visit every single attraction at the park.
“Come on! Hurry up!” He laughed, walking a few yards ahead of you, already almost at the summit.
“You can do it!” He waved in encouragement, not even a little winded when the two of you made it to the overlook of the trail. The waterfall was roaring, the storm clouds in the distance loom over the peaks. You were exhausted, standing beside him as you caught your breath. He wrapped his arms around you, keeping you upright.
“This view is even prettier with you here.” He murmured in your ear. Thunder rumbled in the distance and he pulled back, looking up at the approaching dark clouds. “We should probably head back to the truck.”
A rain drop pattered against his shoulder. The two of you started back down the trail, but it didn’t take long for rain to start pouring. By the time you reached the truck, the two of you were soaked.
Dick laughed, drawing you to him after he put your backpacks in the backseat of the truck. “Well, we haven’t ever kissed in the rain.” He teased, pulling you closer.
