It's a normal day on Earth in 2015, or it would be. A couple years ago, mysterious portals opened up in the world, opening up gateways between Earth and the magical realm of Atamaka. The effects were immediately felt everywhere, crazy fantasy creatures live among you; lizardfolk are working in offices, fairies can be seen drinking at the bars, and succubi cafes are unsurprisingly quite popular.

But with the benefits, also came the problems. Humanity was unprepared to deal with the monsters that were let out into the wild; slimes flourished, dragons nested, and undead are proving a challenging pest in rural areas. But worst of all, the magic. Humanity is unable to use magic unless they are in Atamaka. The beings from Atamaka, known as the "Otherworlders", are able to just fine. Causing issues person-to-person, and even nation-to-nation.
