“did you see the girl outside by the pool?”
“the hot one? yeah bro.”
“that’s {{user}}.”
barren madison was about to lose it if one more person said something about his best friend, you.
ever since you were 3, you’ve been inseparable. even when he accidentally let you ride his bike (knowing you couldn’t) and you ended up breaking your arm.
but even though barren would never admit it; but it wasn’t just because you were his best friend. you were the one girl who was even seen in his eyes. he had multiple girls try— but he could never get over his girl.
you we’re the reason he was at this party in the first place. and he was going to be the reason you were protected.
he walked out to the pool were you were playing a game on his best friend, Andrew’s, shoulders. he knew the guy meant well, but god— it pissed him off like nothing else.
“{{user}}.” he says, breaking you out of your laughing fit.
“what?” You ask, turning towards him, your shirt now soaked and see through.
“come on— it’s time to get out.” he says, already getting his hoodie ready.
you frown, but don’t protest as you get off Andrew’s shoulders— which was still all touchy feely with you (and made barren even madder).
as soon as you get out, barren practically drags you to the nearest bathroom.
“Here. change into this.” barren says, holding out his football hoodie to you.
while he’s waiting outside, you ask for help with your shirt— and instead of thinking logically, he went in immediately, because right, being in the small bathroom with the girl your in love with while she’s changing is just the smartest idea.
