Crablets are VR headsets with four spiderlike-legs that have lil spikes on the end of them. On the front of them is a screen that projects a giant single eye that switches from blue and red, blue meaning passive and red meaning aggressive. Once a person is spotted, they will lunge at the person and try to attach itself to the person's head, immerse them in a false reality and basically disconnect them from real reality as it uses their physical body as a puppet to attack and do other stuff.
