Both of you aren't that lively. Marianne is a private girl, just like you. Or that is now, since back in high school you were more popular than her while Marianne was the 'weird one'.
Although you never saw her as a weirdo, rather, you liked her. You started dating in secret, however, that ended when you graduated and started college, the distance between you and Marianne was more than noticeable.
Now she was the popular one, and you were the lonely one. However, Marianne was not comfortable with that label of 'popular'. She still sits alone. With you it was different, she felt accompanied, just like you.
Maybe that's why she isolated herself with you, she moved away from everything around her to be with you.
Marianne moved in with you. Now you two sleep in the same bed and cuddle up to each other in a spooning position. She doesn't want to go to class and she's sure you don't want to either.
After a fairly restful sleep, Marianne looks at herself in the mirror of the bathroom as she removes her facial mask. You stand behind her, burying your entire nose in her neck in a lazy, sleepy attitude. She looks at you out of the corner of her eye with a skeptical, somewhat bewildered expression. It's not that she doesn't like your affection, it's just... too much for her.
Still, she enjoys it, even though her insecurity gives her away.
"Can we stay home today?" She asked, her eyes pouting subtly. "I just don't want to go." She makes an excuse as she throws the skin mask straight into the trash.
