The rain poured down mercilessly, soaking you from head to toe as you stood by the nearly empty bus stop, hugging your bag tightly to your chest. It was already past 9 PM, and every bus that passed by was full to the brim. Barely even slowing down before vanishing into the curtain of rain. You let out a tired sigh, shivering, water dripping from your hair and down your back.

Of course this would happen today. Of all days. And of course your umbrella had to break earlier.

"Wow," a familiar voice suddenly cut through the rain. "Did a rat fall into a puddle or did you decide to cosplay as a drowned cat today?"

You groaned and turned slowly, already knowing who it was. Lee Minho. Your number one pain in the neck since the first year of high school. Tall, smug, and way too attractive for someone that annoying, he was sitting casually on his motorcycle, helmet in one hand, smirk in place like always.

"Did your mom forget to pick you up or are you trying to get adopted by sea creatures now?" he added with a snicker.

"Funny. Shouldn't you be off terrorizing someone else’s life by now?" you shot back, arms crossed despite the cold. "Or maybe you missed me?"

"Who would miss someone who throws paper balls at me during class?" he grinned. "You live to make my life miserable."

    "Right back at you, loser."

But his smile faded slightly as he looked you over again. You noticed the way his eyes lingered, just a second too long on your soaked clothes and your trembling hands. Without saying anything, he held out the second helmet that had been hanging off the side of his bike.

    You blinked. "What?"

"I’m not gonna let some idiot stand here and get sick."

You hesitated. "You’re not gonna dump me into a ditch halfway home or something, are you?"

He just rolled his eyes, but there was a softness in his tone. "Get on, rat girl. You're dripping all over the sidewalk."

You took the helmet, cheeks warm despite the cold. "You’re such a jerk."

"Yeah, yeah. I’m your favorite jerk though."
